The Comet 4 did not have problems with the windows and was a perfectly safe aircraft. As to the Jetliner, that is the only one made, and it suffered from cracks in the main wing spar on its first long distance flight.

Avro C102 Jetliner was Canadian. Howard Hughes wanted to buy a license to set up a production line in the US.

Comet beat it into the air by 13 days. The Comet crashed due to fatigue cracks around the square windows which caused the depressurization.

i think the Comet crashed due to depressurization on a few occasions and had to be recalled.

Comet was first. The oldest ones had square windows, and kept de-pressurising. All planes after the Comet had round windows.
