I don't think it is funny or even satrical. Death by murder is never funny whether people try to justify it through government implied warfare. Pidgeons are harmless creatures. To try to put their actions on a bird to make it less horrifying is just making it obvious that we do not take death seriously anymore or warfare. That maybe one of the reasons why people are now numb and ignorant to the deaths around the world by uneccessary warfare. These are humans nonetheless and birds are innocent of such autrocities so this really makes no sense but appears to be an attempt to lessen the obvious trauma of bloody battle.
