The negative voting does often seem to be about "who" made the post. Instead of the the image it's self.
That's not always the case, but often it is.
I'll see a post made by someone and think, "Wow, this will do well." Only to find it's been voted down.
you can't say "this is art, so everyone should vote positive for it"! but it is right that too much people vote a pic negative in the moment it was uploaded! sometimes I have the feeling that it doesn't matter WHAT is uploaded but WHO has uploaded it! :-(
It's a shame that artists these days can't be modest anymore. My point of view is that it's not the artist that should rate his own work but the audience. And if the public says it's crap, then pack your stuff ang go back to the drawing board. That is... if public recognition is what you seek.
I find it difficult to get an overall impression of the picture because it cannot be seen at one glance, it is too looooooooong. Also, comparing the viewers to pigs is hardly going to entice them to vote positive, either. In any case, what is art to one, may not be so to another. The correct ‘pig analogy’ would be ‘casting pearls before swine’ but I guess it would not make the viewers any happier. ;-)
