Ditto, I now take comfort that I am not the only one!

If they put it in my church (which doesn't have an alter), people would have fun with it and then ebay it after they got bored for a good cause. Anyway, it looks pretty old so probably doesn't work anymore. If I had to guess, I'd say it was just an antique for decoration. I'm not sure why they chose that location, though, it doesn't seem like a logical spot.

To be honest, my first thought of this picture is that of a pedophile trap, as in, "Hey, little girl, wanna ride my pony? It's just down here."

Sorry you feel that way, Imnop. You're welcome to think what you will of me. I offer you in return a few things to consider: First, I was only expressing my own opinion; were I to find something like that in a place that I consider to be spiritually sacred, I would be offended. Second, I notice you don't say that you are a member of the Pueblo people, therefore it's *just as presumptuous* for you to assume that this was done by a Pueblo, or that it *wouldn't* be considered disrespectful to someone who *IS* Pueblo to see a coin operated horse in a Kiva. Third, I only meant to point out that because it COULD be offensive, it MIGHT be considered culturally insensitive, and if you look at my prior posts on this page, you'll see that I never told anyone how they *should* feel about the picture.

First of all, most likely it was someone who was Pueblo that put it there or gave permission. Second, as a Native American, I find your self-righteous attitude and presumption that we should be offended by this to be offensive in itself. Third, it's an interesting photo specifically because of the unusual juxtaposition of artistic elements from two different eras in Southwestern culture.

You guessed it. see my previous note!

On closer inspection I see pictures and writing on the wall behind...is this native american? If so, you are right. I wouldn't like it.

I'm not following you...why do you ask that question? Is this in front of one?

How would you like it if someone put one of those at the altar of YOUR church, synagogue, or mosque?
