This is shopped, you will not find a cactus like that in Green River.

Oh, I wasn't saying that the photo "isn't worth it". As you say, alteration of photos has a long history, and it can be very interesting. However, I do like knowing when a photo is a depiction of reality and when it has been altered. Otherwise I may go around looking for that special spot, not knowing it never existed. :)

OK, lets think you are right. So a manipulated photo or shopped as you call it is not worth it? Enhanced and manipulated photos are part of photography history since early years. In my opinion this is an engaging image for what it is .

I may be wrong, but this picture looks shopped to me. For example, the cactus to the right of the store has a strange floating perspective to it, and casts no shadow on the wall of the store. At the same time, the neon sign and the overhang above the door and windows at the front of the store casts shadows. Also, the windows of the store reflects alot of other buildings, yet on this side of the street, there is just one store. Imho, the shop and street in front of it has been cut from one photo and the ground/rocks/sky part from one or more photos. Perhaps the cactus is from a third pic.
