What a generous Christian attitude! You're taking pleasure in the suffering of someone else! And don't you think that's a somewhat harsh judgment? Eternity in hell for kicking you? I'd say that you're the one with something to worry about.

More human beings have probably been killed in the name of God than for any other single reason..the world would be an infinitely better and more peaceful place without religions, beliefs in various gods, saints, prophets, churches. etc....

So you're saying that if only I knew more about christianity I'd be a christian? That is such a lame cop out and everyone says the same thing. Muslims say that, Buddhists say that, scientologists say that, etc. Personally I think that if YOU knew more about christianity (it's roots, it's history, arguments for and against it), you'd be an atheist. About what I truly believe in my heart- irrelevant. Every religion will say the same thing. Humans are simply not equipped to believe things because they believe them because they believe them. If anything has come out of psychology is that it is extremely easy to fool people. And science in general has proven time and time again that people's inner convictions are wrong. About mormonism- I absolutely agree. Mormonism is just a freakish cult which isn't quite as bad as scientology, but it's pretty damn close.

I only said that you have to bone up on your christianity because it's obvious that you're no christian, but that's cool. Maybe I should have realized it then, but I didn't. It's also obvious that like bob 1, you're a professional debater on atheism. Probably a master scholar compared to me. What really blows my mind is what a huge religious and political forum this site has become. Probably why I hardly ever come here anymore. And religion? Nothing more than slavery in the name of christianity. The 16 years that I have spent as a prisoner to mormonism have had a far reaching impact on my life. The things that people do to each other in the name of christianity have turned me off to organized religion all together. Abandoning christ because of it would be a cop out, rather than turning my life over to him at a time when I truly needed him. I'm sure you're used to standing up to those who criticize atheism. Who wouldn't want to challenge those who speak out against their core beliefs? I still believe that it comes down to what you truly believe deep down in your heart. Research mormonism whenever you have the time. It's totally incredible. It totally redefines intolerance. The entire bible is written in metaphores. People take it too seriously and too literally. Sort of like how too many of us look at each other.

Pssst: I was talking about YOU looking them up. I know I don't have to bother, I already know the difference. "figuratively"? Ha, what a lame copout. That's like saying "I was only saying black is white figuratively". It makes no sense. Again, look up both definitions. They're the antithesis of each other. Anyway... On what basis are you saying I need to bone up on my christianity? Oh, right, NONE WHATSOEVER because I said absolutely nothing at all relating to christianity.

nice :)

You don't have to bother, actually. When I call atheism a religion, I do it figuratively. However, you might want to bone up on your christianity.

I've said this before in another picture, but I'll say it again. PLEASE look up the definitions of "religion" and "atheism" before you start blabbing about it, because you CLEARLY don't have any idea what those words mean.

That's it, rule through fear and hatred; the way your religion has always worked. Mindless drone; have you even looked at the alternatives?
