Some of the most intriguing diving experiences happened during night dives... including seeing these creatures. Believe me, I wasn't asleep then - I kept imagining what horrors hid beyond the reach of my torch's light. ;-)

Pretty good answer for bein' asleep...that's exactly what it is...actually, the worm itself lives down in a tube..those feathery parts are retractable respiratory and feeding structures..we humans are gonna have to go waaaay out in the universe to find any living critters weirder lookin' than some of the stuff we have right here..
