Isn't that a coincidence that we were both in New Zealand way back in '77. I might of bumped into you, who knows ? I went there in February that year. I remember that we tried to board a plane in Wellington to fly to Christchurch and each time we did so, the fog would come rolling in. Of course, that meant that we could not take off. It happened around 3 times that we boarded the plane and had to get off it again. I could remember too as it was my first time in a plane, going over the Tasman Sea, my ears cracked. That wasn't very pleasant then. I'm glad you had a lovely time there, Coy... :)

Hey Mary, it is a wonder that I did not bump into you when you were in New Zealand. I too was there in 1977. went to Christchurch first ( we have a deep-freeze base there), then we went to Wellington on the south end of the northern island.Wellington was beautiful as it mostly sets on the side of a curved hill overlooking the bay. New zealand is a beautiful country...

If you do go to New Zealand Poppy, I would go to the North Island first, then the South Island (and not the other way round). The South Island is much more scenic than the North is. I was in New Zealand way back in 1977. I was homesick though, as it was the first time I was ever out of Australia. I did enjoy myself however. It is a really beautiful country.... :)

Thanks for choosing my photo of Lake Okareka. Please note the correct spelling is Okareka not Okawreka. It is a small community 10 minutes drive from Rotorua in the North Island of New Zealand.
