Yep I am from Oz and I'm told that the plane in this pic is a sturdy old Lockheed 18.

Gabrielle, you must live in Australia. Australia and Canada seem to be getting a lot of people smugglers boats arriving on our shore.

Suitcases, luggage? I guess they must be "plane people" piled on an old aircraft (not in ramshackle boats) by cruel, uncaring people smugglers.

They seem to have parachutes so perhaps its something for the Guinness Book of Records. Crazy stuff!

If you really think about it, it is a disregard for life. That's my view, anyway.

Ha ha, very funny and down here we have a flying kangaroo! And also flying foxes. But, seriously, just what is actually going on here? Looks dangerous.

Yes, Gabrielle, that's real all know how you've seen photos of buses, trucks, taxis and trains in third world countries with pasengers all pilled up on the roofs and hanging from the sides ? Well, they do that with local flights in some places, especially Latin America...they pack 'em in, then pile 'em on, the pilot takes another shot of mescal, says a Hail Mary and takes off..this looks like it might be one of Aerochiapas' old airplanes ..they fly all over the Yucatan and parts of Guatemala....

Is this for real? What, when, where, how, why? Is it some sort of record?
