I like it, and I don't usually care for portraits of the Queen.

If your every action and every word throughout your entire life was subject to the kind of intense scrutiny and public interest that this woman's has been, you might be a bit stiff, formal and un-natural as well. I'm no big fan of the Royals, but can understand why it's so hard for them to let their guard down. I am a fan of Ms Leibowitz, or at least of her work, but the fact is that she could get drunk and be thrown out of a night-club and only a few people in the world would know or care. If the queen did that it would be big news.

I love Annie Leibowitz's work but I do not care for the particular subject in question. She tried many times to get this woman to be natural and anything but a pain in the ass without much avail. This is the best shot of their session and I believe Annie considers this work to be her least enjoyable and worthwhile. I cannot blame her and the subject is an absolute bore.
