There's a story down here, perhaps true, perhaps apocryphal, about Miriam "Ma" Freguson, our first female governor, who was elected after her husband, "Pa" Ferguson was impeached back in the 1920's. There was a big controversy back then over whether primary school children whose first language was Spanish should be taught in Spanish. Ma Ferguson ended the debate by holding up a Bible and stating that if the English Language was good enough for Jesus Christ, it was good enough for the children of Texas.

Poppy, you mean you went to the barn, grabbed yourself a barn owl, wacked it around a bit, then stuffed it? Way to go girl! And men think we're delicate hot house roses. Power to women!
