This is a nice photograph, and Albuquerque is an interesting city with an almost perfect climate in one of the most scenic and culturally complex states in the nation. However, I'm afraid there seems to be some mis-understanding of the meaning of the term 'kiva,' which refers to a room , usually underground and nearly always circular, used by the Pueblan peoples and their Anasazi ancestors for ceremonial purposes. What we see in the photograph is a 'horno,' which is the Spanish word for an oven of any kind, although these are also sometimes called 'chimineas.'
