Description:Snails Hill is a protected area of national interest (nature reserve type paleontological), located in Alba county, the administrative territory of the Vidra village. Snails Hill is a paleontological point protecting a rich fossiliferous with gastropods, reef facies representative of the Senonian, floor of the upper Cretaceous. The protected area covers an area of 0.6 ha. It is geologically unique, with an age of 65-70 million years, in which sedimentary deposits consisting of alternating sandstones and conglomerates with marl, are encrusted 35 species of molluscs, the most representative being marine gastropods of the genus Acteonella with gigantic species Lamavki Cenura.
