Authors Comments: Part of the ruins of Hollinshead Hall, on moorland between Bolton and Blackburn. There was a farmhouse on this site for centuries but the ruins belong to the hall of 1776, and the wellhouse dates from this time. I tried to take a photo of the interior, through the windows, as the door is locked, but failed to get a satisfactory shot. There are stone seats inside, and classical pillars surrounding a crude lions head water spout, which still trickles. It is all very spooky and is reputedly haunted!
