As cool as that thought is, its also completely wrong. Makes for a nice picture though. Andromeda could not be photographed with a telescope if it were that large. Additionally, it would certainly be bright enough to see if it were that close. You see stars everywhere in the night sky and a galaxy is nothing more than a large conglomeration of stars, ergo it most certainly would be visible. If you ever saw this in real life, you're great, great, great, great, great, great.....etc, grandkids would be in for a rough day.

Andromeda Galaxy is 6-8 times the size of the full moon as seen by the eyes. As stated, if it were brighter, it would look about like that and would be an amazing sight!
