Many thanks, Jujuba ! The two reasons you told seem credible, true. I realize I had never heard about a town with painted in blue houses , I had never heard anything about Jodhpur, and never seen any pictures of Jodhpur. Have you some other pictures of this town to share ?

Hi Libellule! Thanks for your support and I´ll answer your question based on what I heard from the locals there. I don´t know if that´s the true story, just sharing with you what they told me. They said that the Hindu priests´ houses used to be painted blue so people who needed to talk to a priest for his blessings or prayers could find their places easier, since at that time there was no address system in Jodhpur. After the streets were named, everyone knew how to get to the priests´ houses, so they´ve decided to paint the whole town blue just to make it more lively, since it´s a city in the middle of the desert. Hope that answers your question :-)

How beautiful and impressive panorama ! Are all the houses painted in blue ? I don't believe they paint their houses in blue without a reason ? You know why ?
