I work as an Animal Control Officer so I have plenty of canine distraction. Thanks for the suggestion.

Go adopt and care for a new dog at your local humane society. It would make Blaze proud!

although it isn't a replacement, getting a new dog can help ease the burden of your loss, because you'll be busy getting acquainted with your new best friend... (Just don't compare them. There is no replacement, only distractions.)

When I lost my dog I put up a sign too. It had my phone number on it with a reward too. Worth a try?

I too am sorry for your loss. I lost my Boston Terrier on Christmas morning. What I really wanted to say was how nice it was of you to acknowledge the condolences. Day by day it will get easier

It's just so nice to see how many people care, and that is a legacy to your wonderful dog Blaze. He is toughing peoples hearts even now. I lost some of my dog and cat family members too. And the whole world can say I'm crazy but I have had clear signs that they are still with me.. there's things we just don't understand while we are here. I'm sure right now Blaze is wagging his tail and saying thanks dad, I love you too!!

I lost a cat friend that I had for 21 yrs. Broke my heart. Now I'm watching my 12 yr old dog friend start to fade. For every bit of pain we feel at their passing, they gave/give us joy x 100.

I lost my constant companion--a wonderful, bright, playful, loyal Brittany--in a tragic accident a few years ago. Like sch126 says, I didn't realize how much he meant to me until he was gone. Nothing else--no person, animal, or thing--had been such a constant in my life in the years Chipper lived. I still miss his enthusiasm, his playful energy, and his forgiveness for my own faults. But he still brings me joy! Best to you, rickp!

I feel your pain on that one, brother. I lost the absolute best, most ideal dog a couple of years back. My wife had just walked out too...talk about the makings of a pathetic country song! Sometimes dogs can become just a part of the background in our lives, until suddenly they are gone. You're never really prepared for, and quite surprised by the size of the hole they leave. That photo of Blaze clearly has "best friend" written all over it.
