I do love a mystery - and more so when it gets solved ;-)

Beautiful :)

You are perfectly welcome, Jujuba. And with not finding the post I sent to Pixdaus of the acorns...I do that from time to time, as I'm sure others do here as well. Don't give yourself a hard time about it though. We all make mistakes.... and I've made plenty.. :(

I mean, on the concern about the comments...

@ Mary - thanks for your concern about the comments :-) @ Connie - I have a solution to your 'mystery' ;-) :P This photographer (Gary Hickin aka Gazart) has made two versions of the photo in concern - Acorns and Acorns 2. Mine is the second version. They´re slightly different, and I didn't find Mary´s upload in the seach cause I only looked by the phothographer´s name and using tineye (which didn´t accuse it of being posted in Pixdaus before since it´s a different one). Acorns 1: Acorns 2: Now, If I had searched for a key word like 'Acorn', Mary´s upload would be the first one to come up. But I usually don´t do that, since most of the times the search brings up hundreds of pictures. In this case, it was stupid of me not to do it - since obviously there wouldn´t be so many photos of acorns in this site - but it simply didnt come to mind at the time. So now, checklist is: - Name of photographer - Tineye - Key word if it´s not such a widely used word uufff! :P

How easy is it to remove something from Pixdaus? Cause I´ve been asking them to simply remove those spam comments from my profile page forever! :-( (Skip had called my attention to them) I thought it was easy to remove comments, since I´ve seen it happen so fast below some pictures ...

Only by a couple of nutshells on the right in the front of the picture...

Actually your upload is a different photo from Jujuba's, but it has similiarities.

And as far as the photographer is concerned, Gary Hickin and Gazart are one and the same person. That is the link to the same picture that I posted. I did not post this photo from Flickr. It was posted some time ago and if my recollection is correct, I think I posted this from a Russian website. I think that was Liveinternet, but I maybe wrong about that.

I was just about to write that about not commenting further under the picture that Jujuba has posted. And it's not because I have also posted this. That is the least concern of mine. My concern is that Jujuba went to all that trouble of asking the photographer to feature the photographer's work on Pixdaus and people come along and downgrade it with their trivial chatter. I think that this most unfair to Jujuba and also to the photographer.

Common sense ? Somerset Maugham said common sense was just another name for the thoughtlessness of the unthinking. As for being immature, I consider that a considerable acheivement at my advanced age. A man can't avoid getting old, but he can remain immature for ever ! But...I do have some sympathy for anyone who has just had any kind of surgery, even you, and I don't wish to further sully Jujuba's beautiful picture with fussin' cussin' and squabblin'. So let's let it drop, okay ?

I don't remember anything about the Newsman vs the Jumping Wolf. I do recall that there was a lot of disagreement as to whether it was a doctored photo or not. I remember thinking the photo looked photoshopped...the wolf looked like it had been pasted on the ice float. I found one by Brandenberg and posted it; the wolf looked real in that one. I vaguely remembered the username Newsman, but not in what context. I welcome back people who have returned. Anything wrong with that? In the e-mail I got from Chris, he referred to the username 'Joker'. Personally, if he wanted his comment to be taken seriously he should have used another name. However, based on the e-mail, it is clear that Newsmans is a liar. Joking around and making up 'little stories' is ok - it's cyberspace. But, to claim getting personal information on uploaders from Chris' father is absolutely digusting. No wonder Chris had to intervene. You have good reason to be very angry, but you showed your lack of common sense and maturity with the last six words of your comment. Anyways, I'm too pumped full of antibiotics and painkillers, to react too strongly. This morning I had surgery - 'gum implant'. I'm too busy thinking where they got the tissue to be too concerned about your dumb remark. I guess now Van Couver will say I'm flirting with you. Go ahead Van Couver - I don't mind someone making fun of me; life is too short to take myself and others too seriously.

That photo was removed by Chris because in the comment section beneath it your buddy Newsman told an elaborate, blatant, and bare-faced lie about getting personal information about Pixdaus users from Chris Brooke's father, Gavin Brooke. You supported Newsman when he claimed to know everything about how the Jim Brandenberg 'Jumping Wolf' photograph couldn't possibly be real. It turned out, after he'd insulted those who questioned his authority and "expertise," that he was dead wrong. When that inconvenient little fact emerged he told the entire Pixdaus community to "go to hell" and stomped off like the prissy-assed prima donna he is. Now he's returned and you welcome him with open arms and cheer him on. The guy is, in addition to being a liar, a self-important, preening phony who thinks he knows everything , and you're a perfect match for him.

I recognize the photo because I had saved it for a 'autumn' theme to send to my great-niece. Anyways, an almost identical photo was posted by Mary (PictureGirl), but the caption says 'Acorns by Gazart'. The position of the acorns is identical with some minor changes around. So, it's either Gazart or Higgin who copied the other one's idea or Gazart and Higgin are one of the same. I suspect it's the same person. I like little mysteries on Pixdaus. By the way, the photo with the caption 'Connie flirting with Patito' has been removed by Chris @ environmental graffitti. I wonder why ;-)
