Might you be trying to say 'heroin poppies'? There's no such thing as a heroin poppy, but there is an opium poppy (Papaver somniferum), out of which e.g. morphine is refined. Heroin is a semi-synthetic opioid synthesized from morphine. These poppy seed pods could be pods of any number of poppies, and I doubt that there’s anything in them as such that could produce big flames when lit; something inflammable must have been poured on them first. Creative photography, though.
