Yes, indeed! FREE TIBET!!! The Chinese thugs have slaughtered many thousands of Tibetans since their invasion in 1949 and continue to maintain their illegal stranglehold. It is time that countries of the world unite and demand China's total withdrawal from all Tibetan lands.

Dude, learn your politics before committing to post as GW Bush. China raised a big stink over whether or not the US should welcome the Dalai Lama (and essentially acknowledge the turmoil in Tibet) to the White House and award him with the Congressional Gold Medal(which we DID on Oct 17, 2007). China even threatened that the meeting would damage China-US relations, but we did it anyway. If we really were worried about trade relations with China, then I think we wouldn't have met with the Dalai Lama on this, or any of the THREE times the real GW met with the Dalai Lama. Of course, GW was a pussy and didn't allow media access to broadcast the latest meeting, but the fact remains, the Dalai Lama was still honored despite China's protests. Seriously, read a freaking news article...*ahem*...BOO-YEAH!

Yeah, that kind of freaked me out when that happened. All I can figure is that G.W. doesn't understand just how much an affront to China could cost us, given how much of our economy they effectively own. I think it's awesome that he did meet with the Dalai Lama, but I have a tough time believing it was out of respect for his campaign of peaceful resistance (as he claimed). It's sort of like Gandhi and Stalin sitting down for twinkies...

Seriously! This photo is the best representation of the plight of the Tibetan people, who have generally been a peace loving people for the past 1000 years. When their country was invaded in 1949 the Chinese had no mercy, and they still have no mercy today. Monks and novices who only have a photo of the Dalai Lama are imprisoned for years, often tortured. Many of them die from the torture in prison. And yet, still, they are a brave people. The recent flare-up of demonstrations, where they resorted to burning and looting buildings, was a rare occurrence for Tibetans. It was desperation to get news of their plight to the outside world. China has raped and exploited the resources of Tibet for greed.
