But not worth smelling.

Anyone know why it smells? Paper mill nearby?

Nonsense. Venice smells fine for a city surrounded on all sides by ocean.

Venince smells becuase they dump all their sewer into the water and it takes a few days to get cleaned out. Though if your interesting in going I didn't think it was that bad, but maybe it was the time I went.

A beautiful place unlike anywhere else on Earth. Put it on your bucket list.

No wonder I couldn't find the bus station at night after Carnival. For one thing, I was drunk on Chianti. For another, they change the signs so you will be misdirected to a canal where a guy on a gondola is willing to take you around for a steep price. God bless Venice, I dream of returning some day.

You go to Venice...and you drink...Chianti????

That's like going to Russia and drinking Tequila...

Actually that is like going to Russia and drinking Vodka, Chianti is from Italy.

Yes..Chianti is Italian, but Tuscan..the best known Venetian wine is probably Amarone..someone once observed that in general, wines from the Veneto are "known more for their charms than for their glories.."
