While the rest of the world fought from September 1930, the US sat back waiting to see who would win. For a while, the US supplied both Germany and the Allies, making money from both sides of the conflict. The US entered the war in Dec 1941, not because of any high-mindedness, but because Japan attacked the US. The US did not declare war on Germany until Germany had declared war on the US. So the US was dragged kicking and screaming into the conflict.

Sean's right! we gave Russia an incredible amount of supply's in order to secure the eastern front and not give Hitler access to Russia's oil fields.

The russians could not have done it without the help of millions of tons of supplys, weapons and aircraft from uncle sam.

Their heroism is undeniable. However, overall it was the Russians who broke the back of the German fighting machine.

I would think that modern day Germans have just as much to thank them for.
