This, I'm pretty sure, is a HDR photo. The photographer didn't get too carried away with this photo, but I've seen on the Net some potentially beautiful shots that were ruined by HDR...too much of a good thing.
It is very sad that countries over there get into so much trouble and war. I am glad that your friend escaped all of that Connie and that he could go back to the city and visit his family. And I agree that it looks like a very beautiful city. It comes across so well in the photo you chose. Thanks again, Connie.. :)
Thanks. My friend was born in Prague. Him and his family escaped when he was 14 or 15. It was during the Russian Invasion in the 60s. There was a lot of chaos, and people were easily given passport/exit papers by government officials. They did not have any more love for the Russians than the populace did. A few years ago he went back to visit relatives. He said that Prague is a very beautiful city. That's one of the few cities in Europe that was not bombed during WW II.
