I told General ( that's his name ) about the nice things you ladies said about him and he kinda grinned , shuffled his feet a little bit and said "aw, shucks!" ..then he told me to thank all of you ..and yes, he is the best-natured and sweetest dog I've ever had, which is good because he stands close to 30 inches at the shoulder and weighs in a little under 100 lbs...there are several cats around our place and two smaller dogs, and although he could probably swallow a cat in one bite he's never harmed another living creature... He also is extremely intelligent, and although being a dog he can't read he does enjoy it when I read to him in the evening before bedtime...we just finished Josiah Gregg's 'Commerce of the Praries' and are now reading 'Tales From The Monte' by J. Frank Dobie..that's the kind of stuff he likes..outdoor adventure, exploration, hunting and such..I've tried reading him real literature like Thomas Hardy and William Faulkner and such but that kind of prose is too dense and he just nods off...

Yes, both of your dogs are really cute, and this one looks like he enjoys having his picture taken, or was he about to get a treat?
