I lived in New York City's Greenwich Village. There, at night, the streets are flooded with prostitutes. Of course, given that it was a gay area you never new just what the person was without some careful examination - I wasn't interested in that. Surprisingly, that section of "the village" was one of the safest places to walk at night
Back in the early eighties I went to Paris, staying in a cheap hotel on a street next to the Rue St Sebastopol. When I went out in the evening there was a woman about every six feet. Many of them looked gorgeous, until you looked into their eyes... Truly sad.
The effects of drugs, yes, but not prostitution. There are a great many legal prostitutes in Nevada that never end up like this. In fact, its not uncommon for women to use such a job to pay their way to getting a degree. Of course, legal prostitutes are regularly tested to make sure they are clean, drug free, and not being harmed by their employer or clients. This is impossible to enforce if prostitution itself is illegal, of course, so the law actually harms more woman than it helps.
seen it before--it is an incredible image. i believe the original purpose was about the damage of methamphetamine. but obviously it is more universal. so does it mean she was arrested once a year? wtf?! damn she looks scary toward the end.
