A nice photo but definitely not Morpho polyphemus. M. polyphemus is a large (wingspan of 5+ inches) and almost totally white butterfly found from Mexico south to Costa Rica. It is known vernacularly as the "flying pillowcase butterfly" from it's color, large size and slow lazy flight. The actual butterfly in the photo is a much smaller butterfly in the family Lycaenidae with a wingspan well under 1 inch. I cannot be certain of the specific identity but I am certain that it is in the genus Plebejus. This is a North American genus of about 10 species that are found in North America (USA and Canada)
