1) Just how long do you thing a re-entry vehicle takes to go from 100,000 feet to 0 when they re-enter the atmosphere at about 20 times the speed of sound? 2) Traveling at that speed, the heat shield of the re-entry vehicle burns off leaving a trail of ionized gas and burnt ablative material, hence the trails, it is a time exposure, but certainly less than a second. 3) This was a test of a LGM-118A Peacekeeper, now withdrawn from service.

Looks more like laser lights to me -- look at the point where they hit the clouds -- missiles dont leave a trail like that!

This is demonstrating multiple independently targetable reentry vehicles. The picture is showing multiple non warhead impacts. Useful for large area coverage and harder to intercept

This looks fake. All the missiles are converging and would hit each other.
