..Only actually seen it played once..some Pakistani medical students..looked like it might be fun, kinda thing we would have played as kids if there hadn't been baseball, which is crickett's first cousin..all the most highly evolved games are played with a stick or a modified stick..football, rugby, soccer, etc are about equally boneheaded...we tend to like what we like among those three because of what we played or watched as kids..I grew up in a little southern college town and the Saturdays when there was a home football game were electrifying, even to a little kid, and I still love the game..that's my excuse, anyway..

I finally 'get' cricket. Thanks, Poppy.

Gone (I suspect) are the days when cricketers always wore only white and did not use any gloves for catching the ball. I have sat many a pleasant English afternoon on a village green to watch cricket; great accompaniment to Pimm's No. 1 Cup, bread and cheese, and good conversation...

let me see now the yanks hold a world series ...and only invite themselves ??? LOL More cricket playing countries in the world than baseball and don't get me started on Gridiron V, Rugby ( a real mans game as opposed to a 4 hour monstrosity for mutants.)

Another example of why it's sometimes better to have a photo with no identifying information..no info is better than erroneous info...

I agree. Please change the tag.

It's cricket, not softball. If you're going to tag a photo, get the fcuking tag right!
