This was taken from 34th St. Union Square is 14th-17th street. The tall building on the south side of the street is Empire State Building (34th and 5th southwest corner of the intersection). Signpost at right is Lexington Ave. So it is taken from Lexington and 34th St.

Why do you call it "real world"? NYC is one huge garbage pile. Literally. Why would anyone call it "real world" is beyond me, unless you lived all your life among garbage piles...

taken at union square (not by me). I just left NYC after 6 years, it is the greatest city because it teaches you how the real world is without excuse. Every day I would pass by tourists who came for the magic and glamor and were faced with the reality of $3 bottles of water, traffic, pollution, and terrible loneliness. I doubt I will ever go back.
