Hey, how could you be expected to remember the name of every flippin' mountain in your vast country? ;-) In any case, "Whistler's Mountain" in the caption led you astray in the first place because that is in Whistler. Let's blame the people who named those mountains, eh? One whistling mountain should've been enough... I sure will watch the olympics.

Hey, no need to say sorry ;) Guess the photographer didn´t have too much wine after all :P

Sorry about that Jujuba - I was wrong...ten lashes with a wet noodle for me. See my comment to Poppy.

You are right Poppy. I now have a very red face. I have no excuse for my ignorance of that mountain in Alberta; I have skied in the area ( Sunshine Village), hiked and camped. In my defence, none of my friends have ever heard of Whistlers Mountain in Jasper. It must be a puny mountain...by Canadian standards ;-). The Whistler in B.C. refers to the village of Whistler and to Whistler Mountain. There is also Blackcomb mountain right beside it. We refer to the whole area as Whistler. It's very expensive skiing there now. I hope you all watch the Olympics this winter. You'll see how lovely that area is.

Connie, of course you’re right about Whistler and Jasper, but just google ”Whistlers Mountain, Jasper” and you get lots of hits. It seems that the mountain in Whistler (BC) is called either Whistler Mountain or Whistler’s Mountain, whereas the mountain in Jasper (Alberta) is called Whistlers Mountain. Confusing, what? ;-) Here’s one link:

He either got confused or had too much wine we he posted this photo. Anyways, Jasper and Whistler are both absolutely beautiful. The Jasper area has some great hiking and camping; Whistler has great skiing and hiking. We are having the winter Olympics 2010 at Whistler.

Hmmm, maybe. I just copied the description from his portfolio...

The photographer got confused ;-) Jasper is in the province of Alberta, and Whister is in British Columbia - big distance between them.
