I am sure VEEN who wrote the comment last May, will appreciate the fact you agree.

These are either European or Australian rainbow bee-eaters

Am I reading this correctly? Did poppy state that SHE took away +5 votes given to her previous comment? Is she admitting that she has the capability of doing this -- in spite of her frequent denials since 2008? If she did this, at least she did so judiciously in this case. This power to give or takeaway votes has been very much misused of late, I doubt if by poppy, however. Whom else might have the ability? I have a very good idea for that.

I wish they were all eating shit. Alas, to dream the impossible dream...

Encyclopaedia Brittanica calls them Yellow Bee Eaters.

...I get my feathers ruffled here from time to time as well! The reason I got it wrong in the first place was because I only checked ONE picture of little bee-eaters, and it was NOTHING like these ones here, so when I found the rainbows, I thought that's it! and looked no further. In other words, don't ever believe the first source (and generally I don't)! The Internet has its fair share of bullmanure, same as any other place. ;-)

No need to eat a crow poppy ;)...I promise to include the Latin name from now on. It's people like quantum with the totally useless posts that ruffle my feathers ;)

P.S. I just took away the +5 votes given to my rainbow bee-eater "identification". ;-)

Birdboy, you are correct, I eat crow. They are Merops pusillus! If you'd use the Latin names, everything would be sooo much easier... ;-)

I think this is a negative and the birds are the opposite color of what you see.
