This is a Jack Rabbit, though as the tag says, it is a hare. Hares, as I understand it, differ from rabbits in that while rabbits make nests to birth their young, true hares don't make nests. Momma finds a place she likes and the young'uns pop out completely furred, and with their eyes wide open. They almost literally hit the ground running.
