In the great scheme of things....no, its not historic on a global scale. If you follow World Championship bike racing, it is quite a big significant event. And as someone else has said....why..?...for money !!!!! But facts and figures aside...it is a pretty unusual image !!!
Its a World Championship series of 3 bike races... 2-stroke 125cc and 250cc...with 4-stroke 800cc. There are no bikes out on track at the time the picture was taken.
