that is great, now we don't have only one way to help them when they have injuries (put down). i'm sure it's expensive thought, so it can't help them all.

no way, I thought once a horse injured a limb it was put down? huh, cute!

Over here we had Blair to contend with. In fairness to everybody, I don't think that this has been possible for very long, and I imagine that teaching a horse to stand still while the stump was being cleaned would be difficult- the mare in my life certainly gets very unhappy if something's wrong.

It's not necessarily true that the "only" reason it isn't commonly done is due to the greed and selfishness of the owners..that may be so in some cases but not all..it would certainly not be the case on a working ranch or any horse-related business where accounts have to balance at the end of the month...find out what the bill for the vet services was in this particular case ..most horse owners simply couldn't afford it..

There is always some bleeding heart who can find a better use for the money. How many people could Bush's war budget help? Molly is a champ. Thank you, Popolov.

Thanks for the link Anne. I have always said that it is possible to put a prosthetic leg on a horse where a break won't mend. The only reason why it is not done is because of the greed and selfishness of the owners. This mainly concerns the horse racing industry, where horses more frequently break a leg, and the life of the horse is measured only in monetary gain.

give the money to some poor person who uses wood stick as a protez ...

Its nice that some don't buy into putting horses down because of leg injuries just because they don't want to fork out enough to fix it.

I know a donkey was successfully fitted with one about ten years ago, so I'm not so quick to judge.
