That photo was taken in Finland and it's a golden eagle, Aquila chrysaetos. I have seen the whole series and the bird and the fox are indeed fighting over a carcass, but as someone has already pointed out: that's nature.

You are nobody, just a poor JS from LA imitator!!! Some people are eager to learn new things and are happy to read new information shared by someone who knows more, you know?!

I agree. The fox looks dead.

Well it looks to me like the fox is already dead. Why would it just be laying in the snow? Just my opinion but I bet the photographer shot the fox and planted it so he could get this picture. JUST MY OPINION!

Hyenas, lions, leopards, & cheetahs fight over food in Africa and will kill each other when the opportunity presents itself. Lions sometimes kill hyenas for sport and will definitely kill them for vengeance if hyenas kill and eat lion cubs.

The eagle is probably half starved from not finding enough prey to eat; it may have been a particularly bad winter. I can't imagine one predator attacking another for food very often.

This is a golden eagle. The bird called the Mexican eagle is the crested caracara, a large falcon found from Mexico to Tierra del Fuego. The bird on the crest of Mexico is a golden eagle, not a caracara. The caracara would probably not attack a fox, since they are somewhat slow and tend to scavenge rather than attack like the bird in this photograph. In any case, this is a dramatic picture of a major predator killing another predator.

I hate all photos showing animals suffering.
