It is indeed a melancholic yet beautiful story :) I actually asked that in a naive way, should have known that either Poppy or Patito would come with an explanation for it ;) :P

Wow, now that's quiet an interesting story. Glad you ask, jujuba, else I'd never known.

Her name is Adana Amontillado and she lived in the idyllic fishing village of Las Playitas (Tuineje), on the southwestern coast of Fuerteventura, Canary Islands. The story goes that she lost her sweetheart in the Spanish Civil War, moved to Canary Islands from mainland Spain, and became a recluse. She collected sea shells from the beaches and sold them to tourists in nearby bigger towns. She never spoke, never smiled... She died in 1979 at the age of 59 and was buried in a pauper's grave. But this is where the story really starts... Ever since her death, shells have been found on her favourite beach every morning, arranged in beautiful still-life creations. No-one has ever seen how they get there, but there they are, every single morning. Adana Amontillado is still on that beach, collecting sea shells, staring into the horizon, waiting for her sweetheart to return from the War...
