I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure the stick style hand grenades (potato mashers?) was a munition used by Germany in WW I that the nazis improved for their 'wehrmacht.'

First, you should learn consistency when enumerating your lists. Second, those helmets look like they are from WW I, because in WW II, the flared back of the German regular army helmet was shortened by about two centimeters from the ones shown in this photo. Third, The trenches, barbed wire, and munitions shown in the picture look to be from WW I; however, you are correct about German storm troopers being a force active only during the Nazi era.

A) Those helmets look like they are from WWII 2) Sturm Abteilung (Storm Section) aka Brownshirts are from the run up to WWII, roughly 1933 on. i.e. 15 years after the end of WWI at the earliest.
