A Buffalo Lesson: A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo, much like the brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. The slowest buffalo are the sick and weak so they die off first, making it possible for the herd to move at a faster pace. Like the buffalo, the weak, slow brain cells are the ones that are killed off by excessive beer drinking and socializing, making the brain operate faster. The moral of the story: Drink more beer, it will make you smarter.

No wonder I'm confused! After some sleuting I have found that North American buffalos are actually bisons. Buffalos ie water buffalos are in Asia and Africa.

We have bisons and buffalos roaming around in Alberta. I always confuse those two. I remember that song! I used to climb up trees (a real tomboy) and belt that song at top voice. By the way, I bumped into Chief Dan George some years ago. He was born on the North Vancouver Indian Reserve. He became a Hollywood actor for crying out loud.

Now, Ms C, think about this....did you ever hear of a song that goes "Oh give me a home , where the bison rome.." ? Nope...Or did you ever hear about a wildwest cowboy named Bison Bill ? Nope....or did old Chief Dan George have a wife he called Bison Wallow Woman ? Nope...it's a buffalo..calling 'em bison is like calling crawdads cray fish or callin' possoms O'possoms...maybe technically correct but contrary to common usage...now, all together..one two three "Oh give me a home, where the buffalo roam, and the deer and the antelope play..where seldom is heard, a discouraging word, and the skies are not cloudy all day.."
