Only in the U.S. could something like this be so blown out of proportion. Like somebody mentioned, there'll be a movie out of it for sure. I'll be surprised if they don't build a monument to all those poor ruined designer shoes.

what is the point my dear Popolov???? we were discussing about poor birds and poor ants killed by our criminal technology... not about humanity tragic destiny. I dont care about the stupid movie some people want to make. I totally agree with you on this point. And actually you dont have any idea on what are my opinions about 9/11 or actual wars, you would be very surprised.

Then Popolov, tell us which new tech you are thinking about? Hey you are using the internet. You know what? when they digged to put all the wires on the ground they killed a lot of ants living there before - natural process, you know what I mean - Are you that bloody selfish using the internet and indirectly killing millions of ants? Come on, just think before you write such stupid things. (btw you'd love living with Amish) Cheers

What is the big deal? The pilot was doing a job for which he was trained, which included emergency landings. The plane developed the problem 6 minutes after take-off, when birds were sucked into both engines. And the stupid nonsense about making a film out of a common occurrence is all part of our dumbed down culture. Wake up! That birds are frequently sucked into jet engines is a sad reality of our times. Birds' flights are a natural process of their creation and we, as humans, should respect that. Therefore, there is but one answer, and that is a mechanism, a technology to deflect birds away from an aircraft's flight path - without damaging the birds. But no, humans are so bloody selfish that such an idea never enters their pea-size brains.

To me, swallows are strong symbol of goodness. God blessed those people. Keep it coming with good news from America.

From the distance those people look like swallow on wire. Good thing is that they all survived.

Kudos to a great captain and crew. He made all the right decisions. CNN says most probably due to birds; birds are a real problem for planes, and that there are a lot of geese around there. They added that Canada Geese weight between 7 - 20 lbs.
