This house, built in Fayatte County, Pennsylvania, in 1934 , was one of Wright's favorites, although it suffered from some pretty serious engineering defects that eventually required substantial doctoring up. Wright built it for Pittsburg businessman Edgar J. Kaufmann, Sr, at a cost, in today's dollars, of about $2.3 million. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1966. In addition to the structural problems ( the cantilevers as originally designed by Wright wouldn't even support their own weight ) the location over a waterfall resuted in chronic mold infestations. It's said that Old Man Kaufmann nick-named the place "Rising Mildew."

Hi everyone, Frank Lloyd Wright is the architect for this unusual house. Not sure who took this photo.
