All the names you mentioned still get a lot of votes for their uploads. I think you and I (especially me) are more blunt about expression our opinions about what is going on here. However, my photos got really low votes from the time I started to post 2 1/2 years ago. Many of those photos had won competitions with, for example, camera companies like Nikon, photography clubs, competition at flickr.com etc. Yet, I was hardly making any comments at that time. I noticed a 'clique' starting to form...and that's when I noticed cyberspace 'friends' voting for each other's photos - no matter how bad the photo was.

I think there is a misunderstanding. I'm not going to be away from Vancouver; I will only be going in and out to Vancouver Island - with some overnighters. It's a short trip via float plane or helijet from Vancouver on the mainland. One can also take a ferry, but that's 1 1/2 hours. This friend does not have a computer; she'll just pop in once in a while to use mine...mostly to send e-mails. She did that when I was in Europe in 2008 and 2009, and a few other times. I told her she could vote on photos and comments, but she cannot post photos under my username Connie nor make comments. Anyways, I don't think she'll be doing that very often. Like I said before, I will be busier now, but I could still upload photos and make comments on Pixdaus during that time. However, I no longer find Pixdaus enjoyable; the atmosphere here is toxic with the nasty comments, the cheating, the voting for a user instead of the photo itself, and the deletion of photos and comments. Because I mentioned that some uploads were already posted by me, I saw MY uploads (the original poster) deleted along with the comments. This has also happened when I mentioned it about someone else. This ability to delete photos and comments can only come from Pixdaus themselves giving it to someone (I strongly suspect who it is...who is very silent these days). When I commented that I believe Pixdaus is responsible for that; the comment along with the photo disappeared. That is an attack on freedom of speech - freedom of expression. Now watch this comment, and maybe the photo, disappear.

Connie, If you are going to be away from Vancouver next year, and your computer and Pixdaus account used by a friend........why not have that friend get her own Pixdaus account and name. Then she/he can do whatever they want with the account. Then you can maintain the 'Connie' account and sign in with it from any computer anyplace you are. It would be a simple matter for you to make comments as 'Connie', but uploading photos a bit harder to accomplish.

Hello Connie: I think there are a lot more who vote for themselves than you think. If I log out from my user name and then vote, does it really make any difference whether I cast the vote or whether my wife does? Pixdaus will allow either, but we can only vote once from our household. Personally I think Pixdaus should allow every household to vote once on every photo, without having to log out to do it. It would be much better if they would do this and then take steps to minimize down-voting of all sorts. I think that anybody making comments under their own usename is at risk, no matter what they say. I know that everytime I have made a comment, it is followed by huge numbers of negative votes. Yes, very many vote for the poster and not the photo. One photo that I posted a short while ago, was voted to -13 and gone in less than 24 hours. This photo was voted 'best nature photo of 2010' by a panel in London -- so it could not have been that bad a photo. Perhaps Pixdaus could come up with a system that permitted voting on a photo before the poster's name was given. This would go a long way towards solving this problem. Very few do have the guts to make comments under their own use name. You, Coy, Poppy, Ademirano, PictureGirl, Gabrielle, skip, peasant and myself seem to be the only ones that persist. A couple of these seem to get away with it! Others that have seem to have learned a lesson from this, or it may be that they have simply left Pixdaus as a user. After this comment, I am certain to get another flux of negative votes. So be it. I prefer that to resorting to some troll name for a comment.

I don't have any problem expressing myself; I think I'm very articulate. You say "the rest of us" - I suspect there are only a very few who vote for themselves. However, I suspect that perhaps a lot vote for the poster and not for the photo. Also, there are others who have given 'unpopular' opinions using their own username, and had their photos voted down. I'm not unique in this, but I am a good target.

Yes that's right if anyone else had posted this it would have plenty of votes, you are the only one who has trouble with votes or with expressing opinions here and then having your pics voted down or ignored....the rest of us can say whatever we like and the votes just pour in...or we just vote for ourselves! Too bad for you, but lucky for us....

True, but it may get alot more votes over time. I hope that it does so... :)

Even at 11 votes it's pathetic, in comparison to what others would have received for posting the same photo.

You are very welcome, Connie. I wasn't aware that at the time of your comment, this post had only 3 votes. I'm glad it has more now because this is a very beautiful photo... :)

I was being a little sarcastic because there was only about 3 votes at the time I asked that question. This is a avery nice photo of some concerned or curious horses over a dog. Thanks PictureGirl.

In answer to your question, Connie. I don't think this is a repost. I've never seen this photo until now and I've been on Pixdaus for a couple of years, of course not all that time commenting and posting pics for I was an observer for some time before I decided to post and comment. I agree with RozfromOz. This pic IS adorable.. :)
