I agree. This is a wunderful example of lenticularis clouds. Gliderpilots love them, because they can reach a great altitude there. On a flight two years ago, I saw a chain of lentis from Brocken montain reaching nearly to Berlin. (~100km)!

I took pictures of a similar cloud formation in Golden, Colorado, during sunrise in October 1988. The cloud formation that I saw had one cylindrical cloud (like these) and a classical lenticular formation nearby. Great photo!

These clouds are altocumulus, sub type lenticulars. Great picture!
