That black one looks kinda like a dog to me too..it might be the mom's pup..and yes, dogs, just like cows, have to conceive and give birth in order for lactation to occur...but momma mammals can continue to give milk for a long time after their natural offspring stop nursing...that's how come we're able to have dairies..
