These were laid down about 110 million years ago in mud flats along the edge of a vast sea that once covered most of the central parts of what is now the US. They are between 15 and 25 inches long and were made by a bipedal meat-eater named Acrocanthosaurus, who was one bad hombre. If you ever see one coming you better hide 'cause you won't be able to out run him.
