people, for cryin' out loud! the guy who posted the photo said he took it - in 2005. it's art, not any kind of attempt to slag off Poland or Polish children. please, use your brains, all of you (including all the Poles who feel 'offended' by this image). btw, I'm Polish myself and I can't see anything wrong with that pic.
I think that calling that pic "children of Poland" is the most stupid idea I've ever seen! I know a lot of people coming to Poland because it is really beautiful country and even countrysides doesn't look like that! The author of that picture should think a lil before he'll name that picture again... You made polish children feel worse than children from the rest of the world... Really intelligent! People! This photo is from 1955. It can be on some history forums. It pictures family from Silesia region. The story behind it is that there are (were) lots poor families, where father (a minter) is never home, and they can hardly afford anything.

There are homeless and poor people in each and every city in the world. I assure you! It can be Poland and it can be US. It can be Romania and it can be Iceland. You name it - it is imposibble to find out there picture has been shot.
Do 2005 nie, ale do lat '60-'80 tak... Jedynym względnie "nowocześnie" wyglądającym przedmiotem na tym zdjęciu jest sweterek pierwszego od lewej dziecka. Natomiast wątpliwości budzi szpula na nici - wygląda na taką z przed 1988 ;)

there are still such cases in the poorer areas of Poland, although more and more rare :) still, it's beautiful, I believe these children are a lot happier than those with computers and playstation.
