Oh, geeze. Guys, it's called a composite. Someone had a professional SLR camera and shot a single person at about 8 frames per second, then stitched the images together. Happens all the time in sports photography. That's not to say it isn't a powerful image... but you're reading way too much into this. *chuckle* To the photographer: Great exposure, good composition, and the videographer in the corner is a nice touch, too. That red dot in the lower right is a little distracting though... why not clone it out?

no, it's an optical ilusion. In reality it's a static monument called Freestyle Victory Arch and is an advertisement for a ski company. The plastic dummies are held together by a very thin steel rod.
