I think that Peasant won, but not too sure with which photo, but he has passed the theme of the next race to PictureDude to choose.....
2011-04-08 08:19:17
Who won the race?
2011-04-07 21:01:59
Since this pic did not win the race, what does it matter what lens it was taken with? not macro = not an expert but. someone who never gives up, argues to the end. I wonder who she reminds me of?
2011-04-07 13:59:26
I'm not an expert but I'm sure this picture was taken close up or with a zoom lens, but it's not a macro shot.

Yeah, right, anyone who dares to disagree with trolls is Patito?
2011-04-07 10:06:46
Since you hate busybodies so much patito, why do you keep butting in? Get the fuck out of here

'Not macro' has absolutely no intention of trying to improve the races but puts every effort into stopping them. Her initial comment was all about this pic not having the 'correct' tags in it when the original pic DID have the 'macro' tag on it. As per usual, the person behind 'not macro' veers into tangents that have nothing to do with the original subject which was whether this pic can be classed as macro or not. The photographer tagged it as macro, so take a hike, 'not macro'!

I repeat again..nobody gives a shit what you think about anything or what your opinion of anything is, you stupid asshole. Go eat a turd burger.
2011-04-07 06:28:39
I repeat again - you are a very rude and vulgar person.

I'm not a troll. Why would you say I am "obsessed with the race pics" simply because I made a suggestion on how I think you all could improve the races? I sincerely want the races to succeed for you all and that is why I made those suggestions which I think will help to prevent or lessen others from finding something wrong at each race. When someone makes a comment on Pixdaus that disagree with others, they are called trolls, and some using different names like Dear Definitley use vulgar language. You are not using your username, so does that make you a troll? These attacks on BOTH sides solve nothing. You can't prevent others from having different opinions. When you attempt to do that it makes matters worse.

Some turtles can breathe through their butts, the same bodily orifice from which 'not macro' speaks. Most posters who participate in the races know that 'not macro' talks through her rear end. Her comments are not likely to dampen their enthusiasm, nor will they lessen viewers' enjoyment of the race entries.

To not macro: You say you went to the photographer's site but did not see the word 'macro' anywhere. Look again, 'macro' is the 6th word in the tags. I don't think you need to worry about the races any more as it is clear that posters will not be willing to take part in them because of all the troll comments like yours. If you are not posting pics yourself, why are you so obsessed with the race pics? Seems to me you're nothing but a busybody and a troublemaker.

Dear Definitley is patito the pig and he can't spell

I googled ‘turtle macro’ and it did not show up, but that means nothing. I went to the photographer’s site and it simply said “Box Turtle Closeup” – no reference/tag to ‘macro’ that I could see. Skip, macro is a close-up photo of small things, which for best results requires macro lenses. Perfect examples of macro photography are the photos of the mantis/mantid, feathers and water drops and some others. I think before embarking on the next race, there should be some agreement on definitions. Without that, there were problems with the following: closeup vs macro - romance vs love - mist vs fog, etc. Another good example of the problems with the race was the theme 'Asia'. Was the photo of a field you could find anywhere in the world (not even a rice field) a good representation of Asia? Would it not have saved some headaches if the Asia Theme photos had to show, by just looking at it, that they were taken somewhere in Asia - something that is unique to Asia? Whoever you are Dear Definitley - you are a very rude and vulgar person.

Eat shit, Not Macro , you putrid whining bucket of buzzard guts!
2011-04-06 13:48:57
The title is quite clear "Box Turtle Closeup" - no reference to the word 'macro' that I can see. It would be hard to believe that a macro lens was used. username audreyjm529 is used by the photographer - as indicated at audreyjm529's photostream; a second name, used by some photographers on flickr, is a contact name only.
2011-04-06 13:29:46
The photographer had "macro" in the tags for this picture so I went with the photographer, which I'm sure is true with many of the other posters who's pics you commented on. Also audrey529 is the flickr nick, but not the photographers name, which is found beneath that.
2011-04-06 13:19:07
This is not macro photography, a macro lens was not used - it's only a close-up. The photographer uses the name audreyjm529, audrey for contact only
