Wouldn't the open doors also allow ample heat or cold to get in as well ? Just wondering...

Thank you for the question majala. I hadn't planned of posting any more photos, but after your comment I did post two more that will show the beehive houses in more detail. Of course these people have no electricity, so there is no light in the homes at night. However, this is not a problem during the day. Although windows are absent or very small, the houses have very large doors that are kept open during the day allowing more than ample light to enter.

But how do people get light in there???
