First, a bizarre reference to artificial ballooning by a top-heavy government run amok, even if given the nod by a conservative, hardly makes the case that we need oil less than we need a small fraction of scenery. Second, even the speculators succomb to supply and demand. We need more supply--you just made my point for me. And thirdly, as to petty, ignorant, and arrogant: strike three. The enviro-guns-for-hire that make a living protesting are well documented, and so are the two and three jobs I've simultaneously worked, partly to pay extremist-level taxes--and other prices driven up by green mongers. You can never, NEVER, tax a nation into prosperity.

One more thing..your suggestion that "green leftists" are on welfare because they don't work is a real manages to convey pettiness, ignorance and arrogance, all at the same time....

First, what is 'appropriately priced' energy? Charles Krauthammer, one of the most conservative columnist in the US, wrote in an op-ed piece in the Washington Post in June, 2008, that he believes the federal government should tax gasoline enough to keep the price at at least $4 a gallon...I don't agree with Krauthammer very often, but I think he's right on the money on that one... Second..most of the gasoline we use in this country comes from oil imported from Canada, Mexico, Venezuela, Saudi Arabia and Nigeria....what we pay for those imports ( and all other oil imports ) is determined by world market prices based on supply and demand ..perhaps you'd care to explain how 'leftists' have any effect on the price of that commodity..???

The greed is in the left forcing the world to go without appropriately priced energy so that they can save non-sentient vegetables that well over 99% of the world's population will never see. The beauty is that normal people recognize the priority of getting to work so we can pay for the welfare of the green leftists who won't.

Yes, and see how much easier it is to walk on the service road rather than stumble along in the bush. Walk? Did I say walk? No, no, no, I am riding my ATV. Progress! ;-)

I don't know about you but I love the smell of gasoline in the morning.
