blayzeohime , your are incorrect about fdic , you may think it is there to protect you but it is not , most Home owning Americans , don't own a home the banks do and in most cases the assets of the bank in your name far exceed the amount you are insured for , the USA is in grave danger right now from the very same thing that happened in the depression .FDIC insures up to $100,000. , what is your net worth , does it exceed $100,000. ? If so how much is in the bank in the form of cash , do you own stock? how much can you convert in a day?Can you pay off your house today , if any of these exceed $100,000. then you are at risk, there is nothing between you and a wall of foreclosure except misguided faith in the FDIC , which represents nothing , I would go online to craigslist Louisiana , go to rants and raves and ask how many people actually got money from their insurance company to cover the damages from hurricane Katrina. It will be a real eyeopener for you

Bankers of all kinds were very hard during the Great Depression. There were runs on the banks, which actually ran out of money to give people. How do you propose, Phillip, that banks were making a profit without even having enough money to cover the amount in people's personal accounts? Also this is not likely 'coming again', as now the FDIC ensures bank accounts so that even during a bank run you are very likely to be able to get your money out.

This was not a "normal suburban family" as Philip maintains but a tennant farmer's family in the rural south...it's one of many depression-era photographs depicting the poverty of those times. Philip's disregard for truth and historical accuracy is no doubt equally reflected in his wild-eyed rantings about "big Jewish bankers."

Is that really what happened? If so, those bankers were smart as hell. Good for them.

Quite a remarkable photo, showing the depravity to which a normal suburban family fell after having lost everything from the Depression just five or so years previously, and the big Jewish bankers were the ones who bought everything up for just cents, leaving these families with 'nothing!' It's on the cards to come again!!!
